BA. (Hons) Basic and Applied Psychology:
The National Authority for Quality Assurance and Accreditation in Egypt (NAQAAE) is the formal regulatory authority for accreditation in Egypt under the supervision of His Excellency the Egyptian Prime Minister. NAQAAE accreditation acknowledges the faculty/programme's institutional and educational capabilities along with achieving the national academic and educational quality standards. The Department of Basic and Applied Psychology has an active partnership with London South Bank University in the UK, and this partnership awards the department’s students a dual degree certified by Ä¢¹½ÊÓÆµ»ÆÆ¬ and London South Bank University.
Preparatory Year This year provides the foundation for the study of basic and applied psychology. You will be introduced to a wide range of study skills necessary for the higher level of your undergraduate education.
Degree Year 1 You will be introduced to further topics such as Cognitive Psychology, Descriptive Statistics in Psychology, and Psychological Research Methods so that you know where and how to search and use information for both basic and applied psychology.
Degree Year 2 You will get a deeper perspective on human behaviour through a range of core modules that cover personality, human cognition, emotions and motivation along with more sophisticated assessment and research skills.
Degree Year 3 You will get the opportunity to apply the wide range of skills that you have acquired in two 20-credit internships in one of the following fields of application: clinical, organisational or educational psychology in reputable organisations such as The General Secretariat of Mental Health and Addiction Treatment (GSMHAT), Addiction Treatment & Abuse Fund (Ministry of Social Solidarity), and Montessori Child Corner.
BA. (Hons) in English Language and Literature:
With the following majors:

• Applied Linguistics
• Translation

Preparatory Year You will be introduced to the basic fields of English language, literature and translation. In addition to study skills, you will have the opportunity to develop your language skills in English and modern European languages.
Degree Year 1 In year One, you deepen your knowledge of the three specialised areas which prepares you to choose one for the following years.
Degree Year 2 Here you choose your area of specialism:
• Literature, where students focus on the interpretation and analysis of literary texts, creative writing, culture studies, digital literature, film review, and drama and performance.
• Applied Linguistics, where students study spoken and written communication, applying both digital and linguistic analyses to lexis, structure and language use.
• Translation, where students acquire the skills of professional translation: terminology and lexicology, using computers in translation, and theoretical aspects of translation.
In all three tracks, students are given the opportunity to choose from a variety of elective modules to further sharpen their real-life experience and widen their scope of knowledge through creativity, empathy, and a lifelong appreciation for literature and languages.
Degree Year 3 In the final year, you are prepared to join the labour force. This is achieved through extensive learning and study experiences. You also conduct research as relevant to your area of specialism whereby your independence, and mastery of the interdisciplinary knowledge acquired in the previous years will be successfully demonstrated.

BA. (Hons) Chinese Language and Culture:
Preparatory Year You will be introduced to the basic language skills: reading, listening, speaking, pronunciation and writing. You will also have the opportunity to develop your English and Arabic language skills in addition to the study skills required for successful undergraduate study.
Degree Year 1 This year provides the foundation for your study of the Chinese language and translation of different text types. Furthermore, you will reinforce and develop the language skills studied in Prep Year.
Degree Year 2 You will get a deep perspective and knowledge of Chinese literature and culture through a variety of modules. In addition, you will further sharpen your awareness of linguistics and translation.
Degree Year 3 You will get the opportunity through this year to delve deeper into Chinese literature and culture. You will even work on a project in which you will display knowledge and understanding of the tenets of the Chinese language, literature and culture.
