Quality Officer - Provost Office
Job Purpose
The Quality Officer supports the Senior Academic Registrar in ensuring compliance with (TNE) partnership agreements, quality assurance standards, and regulatory requirements.
The role focuses on maintaining and implementing effective quality assurance and enhancement procedures, systems, practices and QAA (or other quality assurance body) guidelines and requirements supporting programme (re)validation, monitoring, and internal/external review processes in alignment with both UK and Egyptian regulatory frameworks.
Job Responsibilities
- Maintaining effective and efficient quality assurance and enhancement procedures and practices, including annual monitoring and programme reviews, (re)validation and review of transnational education (TNE) provision, external examiner/link tutor input.
- Prepare and maintain documentation for programme (re)validation, ensuring alignment with university policies and full implementation of review recommendations.
- Ensuring effective application of the University’s Academic Regulations and quality assurance and enhancement policies and practices, including ensuring appropriate completion of documentation required to support these processes and the conduct, operation, and documentation of associated panels and committees
- Ensuring alignment and compliance with relevant external legislative, regulatory, academic quality, and statutory reporting requirements, both in the UK and Egypt.
- Oversee faculty-level quality assurance activities, including committees and quality review panels, ensuring timely reporting, compliance, and implementation of decisions
- Liaising with Academic Services, for example, ensuring timely submission and receipt of Faculty material for review, attendance of external examiners at examination boards, biannual UK validating partner staff visits to the campus, and student exchange and summer school opportunities.
- Working closely with the University’s central advice and support services to deliver an exceptional student experience, supporting students with accessible, adaptable, student-friendly and professional administrative, advice and support services at faculty-level, aligned with that provided centrally.
- Building good relationships with student representatives at faculty-level, and focus on improved student retention, progression, continuation, and success.
- To undertake such other duties as may be reasonably requested by their line manager.
Job Requirements
Educational Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree level or equivalent in a relevant field (e.g., Education, Quality Assurance, or related disciplines).
Experience
- Minimum of 3 years of experience
- Prior experience in academic-related administration within a higher education institution.
- Demonstrated knowledge and involvement in quality assurance processes, particularly in transnational education (TNE) contexts.
- Familiarity with UK higher education quality regulations, including programme (re)validations, periodic reviews, and external audits.
- Experience in supporting curriculum development, academic review processes, and academic committee operations.
Technical Skills
- Competency in using IT systems in administrative and academic settings, including databases and student record systems.
- Ability to interpret and use student records data to support quality processes and reporting.
- Skilled in the collection, organization, and storage of academic and quality data.
- Capable of preparing formal reports, summaries, and documentation for internal and external stakeholders.
- Strong command of Microsoft Office Suite and quality assurance management tools (if applicable).
