Lab Assistant- Faculty of Physiotherapy
Job Purpose
Physiotherapy Lab Assistant supports students to achieve clinical learning in a simulated patient care environment. By improving their knowledge of physiotherapy skills through the implementation of the process, clinical assessment procedures, and care of patients across the spectrum of physiotherapy in the simulation and skills lab.
Job Responsibilities
- Ensure that all available equipment and supplies are properly functioning; responsible for renewals and warranties for all equipment; perform routine equipment repair.
- Assist with and set up all skills labs, practice sessions, and on-campus labs offered in all physiotherapy courses.
- Responsible for maintaining optimum conditions of the laboratory's materials and supplies.
- Oversee the functioning and scheduling of all Basic physiotherapy skills Labs.
- Distribute study aids, handouts, tests, and related instructional materials.
- Maintain student attendance records, grades, and other required records.
- Provide laboratory instructions for the use of equipment and physiotherapy practice, and procedure
- Answering basic patient queries or directing them to the physiotherapist.
- Help organise and maintain a clean and safe laboratory and storeroom environment (floors, counter tops, sinks, shelving, equipment, washes and stores linens, and other materials.
- Undertake various duties as assigned by line manager.
Job Requirements
Educational Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Physiotherapy.
Experience
- 2+ years of experience working in a Physiotherapy Skills Laboratory or clinical training lab.
Technical Skills
- Skilled English reading, writing & speaking skills.
- Microsoft Office applications.
- Internet Tools and various browsers.
- Excellent communication skills.
