Interactive Media Developer- Faculty of Communication & Mass Media

Job Purpose

Interactive Media Developer is responsible to design and develop cutting-edge interactive media experiences such as but not limited to digital storytelling platforms, and educational tools tailored for communication and mass media applications. This role bridges technical development (using Unity, Unreal Engine, JavaScript, or WebGL) with creative storytelling to enhance media production, audience engagement, and digital communication strategies.

 

Job Responsibilities

  1. Design and develop interactive media applications, mobile apps, interactive videos, and games.
  2. Implement UX and UI design principles to ensure that interactive media applications are intuitive and engaging.
  3. Integrate multimedia elements such as graphics, audio, video, and animation into interactive applications.
  4. Manage interactive media projects from conception to completion, ensuring that they are delivered on time and within budget.
  5. Provide technical support and troubleshooting for interactive media applications.
  6. Perform regular maintenance and updates to ensure that applications remain functional and up to date.
  7. Experiment with new tools, frameworks, and techniques to enhance the development process and create innovative interactive experiences.
  8. Create documentation for interactive media applications, including user manuals, technical specifications, and development guidelines.
  9. Collaborate with staff, students, and media professionals in the Communication & Mass Media field to create interactive projects
  10. Perform additional duties as assigned by the line manager.

 

Job Requirements

Educational Qualifications

- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Interactive Media, Digital Arts, or any related field.

 

Experience

- 2+ years of hands-on experience in AI development, educational technology, or media innovation.

- Proven experience in developing interactive media applications, including websites, mobile apps, games, or interactive installations.

- Familiarity with multimedia production tools and techniques, including graphic design, audio editing, and video production.

 

Technical Skills

- Proficiency in using development tools and software, such as Adobe Creative Suite, Visual Studio, and version control systems like Git.

- Strong analytical, problem-solving and presentation skills.
