Ä¢¹½ÊÓÆµ»ÆÆ¬ Hosts Seminar on the Crisis of the Multilateral Trade System
A high-level closed-table seminar titled “The Crisis of the Multilateral Trade System: Impacts & Policy Recommendations” was convened today, jointly organised by the Human Rights Research and Training Centre, the Faculty of Law, and the Faculty of Business Administration, Economics and Political Science (BAEPS). The event brought together distinguished guests, speakers, and participants to engage in critical discussions around current global trade challenges and to propose actionable policy solutions for the future.
The seminar was inaugurated by Ms Farida Khamis, Chair of the Board of Trustees, and Professor Mohamed Loutfi, President and Vice-Chancellor of Ä¢¹½ÊÓÆµ»ÆÆ¬. The Opening Address was delivered by Professor Wadouda Badran, Pro-Vice Chancellor of the Social Science Cluster, who emphasised the urgent need for collaborative and forward-thinking dialogue on international trade reform.
The event featured an exceptional lineup of thought leaders and experts, including H.E. Professor Mahmoud Mohieldin, Dr Ziad Bahaa-Eldin, Dr Sameh Eltorgoman, Professor Mofeed Shehab, Dr Aly Eldin Helal, and Ambassador Professor Moustafa Elfeki, who offered comprehensive reflections and concluding recommendations for navigating today’s global trade landscape.
Both the Faculty of Law and the Faculty of Business Administration, Economics and Political Science were strongly represented. Professor Ibrahim Salama, Acting Dean of the Faculty of Law and founder of the Human Rights Research and Training Centre, and Professor Hadia Fakhreldin, Acting Dean of BAEPS, participated alongside Vice Deans, Heads of Departments, senior and junior academic staff, and students.
Attendees from across all sectors of society contributed to a day of insightful presentations and debate, further reinforcing Ä¢¹½ÊÓÆµ»ÆÆ¬’s dedication to thought leadership, academic collaboration, and policy engagement at the highest level.
