Strengthening Ties in Science and Sustainability
Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ»ÆƬ and CEDARE Join Forces
In a step that deepens the Faculty of Energy and Environmental Engineering’s role as a regional leader in environmental research, Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ»ÆƬ recently welcomed Professor Hesham El Askary for a visit that marked a continued collaboration with the Centre for Environment and Development for the Arab Region and Europe (CEDARE).
At the heart of the visit was a shared commitment to innovation in environmental monitoring—particularly in desert climates. The two institutions are currently engaged in a pioneering joint project titled “Development of the Environmental Monitoring System in Desert Areas,” with a special focus on measuring air quality and light intensity through advanced instruments such as photometers and AQ Mesh technology.
Carried out alongside a team of regional experts, this initiative tackles pressing environmental challenges unique to arid regions, reinforcing the Faculty’s mission to conduct impactful, forward-looking research that serves both science and society.
The visit reflects the growing recognition of the Faculty’s role as a centre for internationally accredited education and research rooted in British academic standards. It also speaks to its vision of becoming a benchmark institution in Energy and Environmental Engineering, defined by professionalism, innovation, and a steadfast commitment to sustainable community development.
Through meaningful, interdisciplinary work, the Faculty continues to create a space where students, researchers, and regional partners collaborate to shape practical solutions for a greener, more resilient future.
