COP29 Simulation - Mock Conference
Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ»ÆƬ, under the leadership of the University President and Vice-Chancellor, Professor Mohamed Loutfi, hosted the COP29 Simulation Model.
The COP29 Simulation Model is a youth-led Climate Programme organised by Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ»ÆƬ, UNDP Egypt, and ADA University, Azerbaijan. It is held under the auspices of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research and the Ministry of Youth and Sports.
The Simulation brought together around 150 participants from 40 countries and 87 universities to simulate COP29 and model country delegates and representatives of international climate stakeholders in an international conference that was hosted on campus at Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ»ÆƬ during the period 4-10 October 2024. Participants presented and voted on policy proposals and developed a climate statement that was presented at the real COP29.
The Simulation Model is part of the University’s efforts to develop the students’ capabilities, train them for international Climate Action, and enhance diplomatic, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills, believing in its substantial role in supporting Egypt and global efforts to achieve Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and address climate change.
