Alumni Manager- Alumni Department

Job Purpose

The Alumni Relations Manager plays a pivotal role in strengthening the university's relationship with its alumni community. The Alumni Relations Manager will lead efforts to engage alumni through various channels, oversee alumni-related events, manage the alumni relations team, and collaborate with key stakeholders to enhance alumni involvement, networking, and support. This position requires a strategic and dynamic professional with exceptional communication and relationship management skills.
 

Job Responsibilities

- Develop and implement comprehensive engagement strategies to foster meaningful alumni connections with the university.

- Act as the primary liaison for alumni inquiries, support requests, and feedback.

- Cultivate and maintain relationships with alumni volunteers, affinity groups, and association leaders to drive alumni participation.

- Collaborate with academic departments, student services, and other university units to integrate alumni into mentoring, career development, and student support programs.

- Plan and execute alumni events, including reunions, networking receptions, and professional development workshops, to enhance engagement.

- Oversee alumni communication channels, including newsletters, social media platforms, and online communities, ensuring alumni stay informed and connected.

- Identify and engage potential alumni donors, collaborating with advancement teams to drive philanthropic initiatives.

- Work closely with marketing and communications teams to develop targeted alumni-focused content and promotional materials.

- Perform any additional tasks assigned by the Line Manager.

 

Job Requirements

Educational Qualifications

- Bachelor's degree required; an advanced degree in a related field is preferred.

 

Experience

- 8–10 years of experience in alumni relations, donor relations, customer relationship management, or a similar field.

 

Technical Skills

- Experience with alumni databases and CRM systems (preferred).

- Exceptional interpersonal, communication, and relationship-building skills.

- Proven ability to manage teams, coordinate multiple projects, and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

- Strong organizational skills and keen attention to detail.

- In-depth knowledge of alumni engagement best practices and strategies.
