Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ»ÆƬ Brings Hope to Siwa with Transformative Medical Convoy
Under the esteemed patronage of Professor Mohamed Loutfi, President and Vice-Chancellor of Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ»ÆƬ, alongside Professor Tarek Abbas, Pro Vice-Chancellor of the Health Cluster, and Professor Fardos Rizk, Acting Dean of the Faculty of Dentistry, the Faculty of Dentistry's Medical Convoys Team recently concluded a successful three-day medical mission in the Siwa Oasis. This impactful initiative was carried out in close collaboration with Siwa Tribal Leaders and the Marsa Matrouh Governorate.
The convoy provided comprehensive healthcare services to 1,975 patients, covering a wide range of specialties. Dentistry services included full-spectrum oral health care along with preventive education aligned with FDI World Dental Federation protocols. Internal medicine and paediatrics teams carried out critical screenings and treatments for various health concerns. Orthopaedics specialists performed emergency interventions, fracture casting, and surgeries at Siwa Central Hospital. Clinical pharmacy services included testing for blood pressure, glucose, triglycerides, harmful fats, and haemoglobin levels.
Beyond treatment, the mission emphasised community empowerment by distributing free Signal toothpaste and toothbrushes, and conducting awareness seminars on dental hygiene that adhere to international standards. Urgent and critical care was delivered under expert supervision, including life-changing orthopaedic procedures.
This mission stands as a testament to the power of partnership, with Siwa Tribal Leaders ensuring strong community engagement and trust, the Marsa Matrouh Governorate providing essential logistical and governmental support, and our University’s faculty and staff delivering compassionate, expert care under challenging conditions.
The convoy highlights Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ»ÆƬ’s dedication to bridging healthcare gaps in Egypt’s most remote and underserved regions, offering holistic care that combines treatment, prevention, and education, all in alignment with global standards to elevate local health practices.
